Creating Sports Themed Spaces

Let’s be honest. The sports lover in a home doesn’t usually get to dedicate their whole home to their love of a team or sport. Despite the fact that they may be lifelong fans of a team, a family may squash the idea of allowing you to display a team color in a home. That doesn’t mean that there can’t be a compromise for a particular room. Often a spare room or office can be dedicated the sports room. So, what are some ideas that can be used to incorporate a sports lover’s team into the home?

Display a Collection

A sports fanatic like to collect memorabilia to show their love of a team. Whether that is jerseys, poster, balls with the team logo on it, or any collection, there is a way to incorporate those items into a room tastefully. You can display those in some ways. From using a bookcase to display signed memorabilia, to creating shelving, or using hooks to hang things, incorporating your collection doesn’t have to be a huge chore.

Use team colors

Team colors can be a big deal to a fan, to the point where they won’t even allow the colors of the rival in their space at all. It isn’t hard to recognize an individual room to be painted in the team colors or incorporated subtly in the rest of the house as well. It isn’t beyond the possibility to use tasteful framed posters within the home.

Create an Athletic Rec Room

If you can have a space in your home that you can dedicate to sports, use this as an opportunity to theme the room as your team. Having a themed room is a chance to watch your team on television and become the envy of your friends and family who are fans of the team. Build the place around the team. Use the walls, and storage space to have all your memorabilia displayed tastefully.

Mix in Sports Related Décor

If you aren’t lucky enough to have a whole room dedicated to your favorite sports team, it is isn’t hard to mix in your favorite team with other parts of the house. Whether it is placing items with other things being displayed on shelves, or placing the logo around a living room area, there are many opportunities to blend in with the rest of the themes of a room.

Decorate with quotes

Quotes can be a great thing to display as pictures on walls. Find some of the great quotes of your favorite player, or coach and include them with quotes from other people and use that as a display in a room in your house.
